 Week 14 Reflection

This is our last week of the semester and I am so excited! 
It's crazy how much my life has changed course since February and it's still constantly changing. 


If you I one final lecture to share with a group of students on what you have learned from this course, I would share what the last sentence was that we studied which was. 

                " Get prepared, because your opportunities will come and if you are not striving to be in ideal performance data at your best, your days of standing on the victory podium will pass to another. My friends, it's time to make it happen."

We need to prepare ourselves for our future, and the best way to start is now, but applying all of the material we learned, which may seem a lot. They are a few key moments a take a way's which make it a little easier to remember. Which are, Keep learning by have an open mind, know your talents (God has given them to you for a reason), and balance. 

  • When we keep learning we keep growing and devolving as a person, only Satan wants to stunt our growth and it can slow us down in the business world and spiritual. Get help and seek good advice from mentors,
  • Knowing your talents can help in so many ways. We are given talents to help bless others which in return will help bless us. By using our talents we will be able to develop more talents. 
  • Finally keeping balance between work and family.



    What would be your last bit of advice to someone wanting to begin the entrepreneur journey?
I've been actually getting this question a lot! I started a little bracelet business with my sister, and now I have 11yr - 16yr old girls asking me how to start and what I did to get orders or views on my videos. And what we've been telling them is confidence, and that it's fun but hard work, and using the quote "if it were easy everyone would be doing it." I had this one girl ask and say she doesn't think she'll even succeed should she start? That's when my sister brought up confidence. You also have to believe in yourself. I wouldn't start anything if I didn't believe I would succeed. That also goes into my once chance to say something is be confident, and move forward with faith. 

It's been an amazing, fun, hard, exciting semester!

 Reflection  Carrie Walsman      Some of the best things I learned this week from class was how important it is to set yourself up for success rather than failure and what's important to focus on vs on what you can think about in the future.      Learning and talking about business ethics at first was no new news. Being brought up in the church with good moral and standard it felt almost silly being told that you shouldn't lie or steal with business.  It was shocking learning that some people actually need to be taught that.       It's important to be able to trust your employees.  You need to learn how to work hard, and remember your goals. Ask yourself what business you want to be and who do you want to attract, do you want to be an A-grade business? Week 5 Reflection

  "A Hero's Journey" Week 05 Reflection.  - Carrie Walsman This week we got to listen to one of my now Top 5 Talks which was "A Hero's Journey".  The talk was 22 minutes but it didn't take long for the speaker to grab your attention.  I would like to talk about 2 main points that ended up grabbing my attention. The first quote that stuck out to me was. " It’s all about you because using your gifts to change the world will change you in the process and you will realize you serve a force in the  universe that is  far bigger than you are." In the speech he tells the listeners to go ask 10 people what your best at. The goal here is to help find your talent and in doing that also your purpose. Talents a purpose line up fairly well. Why traveling is Important

 Why traveling is important.  Carrie Walsman 1/2/22 Writing this I had a great reminder of some of the places I've been and some of the connections I had made. The WHY traveling is important I love traveling, and when I first was able to travel outside of the United States, my love only grew deeper for it. Over the years I've been to serval different states, different countries like India, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Peru and Guatemala. It's hard when I always get asked "what country was your favorite?' It's always too hard answer because they are all so different and each have their own unique impact.  Since each country is so different, it leads me to my first point on why I think it's so important to travel. It opens your mind up to new cultures, new ways of living and food. It leads to opening your mind up and can help you with your own personal growth as a person.  Traveling also can help with gratitude, and can help you become a more caring person.
